Heartworks Home Referrals is a Registry of Caregivers, established in 2002, which, as its mission
states, "...is committed to provide the highest quality in-home care to individuals who would like to
remain at home."
The Registry includes Caregivers and Housekeepers who have each been carefully screened to fulfill
Heartworks' requirements of a high skill level, and who possess the following qualities: Compassion,
Trustworthiness, Commitment, Dependability, and Common Sense.
Members of the Registry are available to provide short-term, long-term, or end of life care, companion
situations, and housekeeping services.
Heartworks operates privately; therefore, is able to provide help according to client's needs -- whether
just a few hours or around the clock. Caregivers and Housekeepers are independent workers rather than
employees, and receive payment for their services directly from their clients. The unique structure of
the Registry reduces overhead costs, which keeps Heartworks' fees at a modest rate (a one-time Referral
Fee from $50 to $150, and an ongoing Involvement Cost of $3 to $5 per working hour).
Caregivers and Housekeepers on the Heartworks Registry take pride in their work, evidenced by a very
high attendance rate. If a Caregiver is unable to work, however, Heartworks ensures that another
Caregiver will be there.
